How-to

Set up a business account and invite your creators

A business account is an admin layer. You invite creators, connect your brand's social channels, and approve content before it goes live. You never post from the business account itself.

A Tention business account is an admin layer, not a creator account. You use it to:

  • Invite creators (your team) and manage their seats
  • Connect the social channels your brand owns
  • Review and approve content before it goes live
  • Set brand rules that apply to everyone on the team

Creators do their work, recording, editing, scheduling, in their own personal accounts. The business account sits above them and acts as the gate.

Before you start

  • You need a Tention account already. If you don't have one, sign up at tention.app first.
  • You need to be on the Business billing tier. You can upgrade from Settings → Plan once you're signed in.
  • The web app (tention.app) is where all business-admin work happens. The mobile app is a creator surface and does not have admin controls.

1. Upgrade to Business

  1. Sign in at tention.app
  2. Go to Settings → Plan.

  3. Select Business and follow the checkout steps. Billing is per seat. You pay for each active member plus any pending invite.

  4. Once the plan is active, a new Business section appears in your left nav.

2. Create your organisation

  1. In the left nav, click Business → Set up organisation.

  2. Enter your business name and upload a logo if you have one
  3. Click Create. Your personal account stays exactly as it is. The organisation is a separate layer on top.

3. Invite creators

  1. Go to Business → Members.

  2. Click Invite
  3. Enter the email address of the creator you want to add
  4. Choose their role. Creator is the default. Creators can record, edit, and submit content for approval. They cannot see other members' work or touch org settings.

  5. Click Send invite.

4. Connect your brand's social channels

  1. Go to Business → Channels.

  2. Click Connect channel and follow the auth flow for each platform.

  3. Once connected, these channels are available to all creators when they schedule content. They appear as an option alongside the creator's personal channels.

5. Set brand rules

  1. Go to Business → Brand rules.

  2. Add or edit rules the same way you would in your personal Brand Check
  3. Save. The rules push to every creator in your organisation immediately.

6. Review and approve content

  1. Go to Business → Inbox. You'll see all items waiting for a decision.

  2. Click an item to preview it. Video, caption, channel, and scheduled time all appear on one screen.

  3. Choose: Approve (the post schedules or publishes as the creator intended), Request changes (add a note; the post returns to the creator's drafts), or Reject (the post is declined and archived).

  4. The creator gets a notification either way

7. Manage seats and members

  1. To remove a member: Business → Members → [name] → Remove. Their seat is released at the end of the billing period.

  2. To resend an invite: Business → Members → [pending invite] → Resend.

  3. To cancel a pending invite: Business → Members → [pending invite] → Cancel. The seat is released immediately.

  4. Seat count and next billing date are visible at Settings → Plan.

You'll know it worked when

  • Your Members list shows each creator with a green Active badge after they accept.
  • The Inbox shows submitted content from your team.
  • Business channels appear as an option in a creator's schedule flow.

The thinking's done. Your turn to talk.

One question a day. Filmed with you, checked against your guidelines, posted everywhere.
