Run a brand check on a take. Check your video against your own Business and Personal guidelines before you post.

Before you start

• You need at least one guideline set up (Business or Personal rule).
• Your take must be filmed. Saved ideas without a video don't have a check option.
• You can add Personal rules in the app at any time.
• Business rules (if you're part of a Business account) are set by your org admin and appear as hard, blocking rules.

On mobile, runs right after you record

1. Record your take in the Tention app on your phone.
2. Tap the stop button when you're done. A sheet slides up: "Before we review." Read it, then tap Continue.
3. If you see "Set up guidelines first" instead, tap it, add one rule, then come back. The app keeps your recording while you're gone.
4. Stay on the progress screen while it uploads and checks. This usually takes 10-30 seconds.
5. Your report appears. If anything was flagged, you'll see the exact quote, the timestamp in your video, and which rule it matched.
6. Read the disclaimer at the bottom. It's required every time.
7. Tap Save video to keep the take. The report saves to your device.

On the web app, run or re-run any time

1. Go to tention.app and open Library in the left sidebar.
2. Click the Filmed tab, then click any take to open its detail drawer.
3. Scroll to the Brand check card near the bottom of the drawer.
4. Click Run brand check. The card shows a spinner while it works.
5. The result appears: a green "Clean pass" or a terracotta "Issues found." Flagged quotes appear below, grouped by Business rules, Personal rules, and Other.
6. Read the disclaimer block. It's always there, in every result.
7. Need to run it again? Click Re-run brand check at any time.

To manage your rules

1. Personal rules, rules you write yourself. Flagged matches are soft: they show a warning but don't block you from saving or posting. On mobile: tap the guidelines screen in Settings. On the web: click Brand check in the left sidebar, then the Personal tab.

2. Business rules, set by your org admin (Business accounts only). These are hard and blocking. On the web: click Brand check in the left sidebar, then the Business tab. If you're on a Solo or Pro plan, the Business tab is not present. All rules are Personal.

You'll know it worked when

• Mobile: the Review Report screen replaces the progress screen, with a count of matches (or a clear "You're in the clear").
• Web: the brand check card in the drawer changes from "Run brand check" to either "Brand check - Clean pass" or "Brand check - Issues found," with detail below it.
