Set up your account and record your first take

Get your Tention account running and capture your first video in under 10 minutes.

About billing tiers

• Solo, one creator, no organisation. Full access to the creator tools on mobile and web.
• Pro, one creator with their own personal organisation. Adds org-owned social channels and advanced scheduling.
• Business, a per-seat organisation. A business admin invites creators as members. The admin reviews and approves content in the inbox/approval queue, connects organisation-owned social channels, and manages seats. The business admin does not record or create content. Business brand rules set by the admin are hard/blocking; personal brand rules are soft/flag-only.

Before you start

• You are setting up as a creator, the person who records and publishes content. This is the path for Solo and Pro accounts.
• You need the Tention mobile app (iOS) to record. Organising, editing, and scheduling happen on the web at tention.app.
• Have your business name, website (optional), and a rough idea of your industry and role ready.
• You need a working email address to sign in.

Sign up (mobile)

1. Open the Tention app. You see a "Let's get you set up" screen.
2. Type your email address and tap Continue.
3. Check your email for a 6-digit code. Type it into the app. It submits automatically on the last digit.

Set up your account (mobile, one time only)

1. Tap Let's start on the welcome screen.

2. Fill in the Basics form:

   First name, Business name, Website (optional), Industry, Role, Location, Primary platforms, weekly posting goal

3. Tap Continue.

4. Answer the three interview questions. Type at least a sentence for each:

   • Q1: Describe the exact person you're trying to reach.
   • Q2: How does your brand talk?
   • Q3: What 3-5 topics could you talk about without prep?
5. After Q3, tap Continue. The app sends your answers and starts building your feed.
6. Watch the "Growing your feed" screen. It takes 30-60 seconds. The app moves to the feed on its own when your first prompts are ready.

Record your first take (mobile)

1. On the home feed, tap any prompt card, a Hot Take (trending news) or a Slow Burn (evergreen question).
2. On the prompt detail screen, tap the Record button.
3. The camera opens. When you're ready, tap the red record button to start. A REC pill appears at the top.
4. Speak your take. You have up to 3 minutes.
5. Tap the stop button when you're done.
6. A review sheet appears. Choose Continue to review. The app checks your video against your brand rules (takes 10-15 seconds).
7. Stay on the screen while the review runs. You'll see a progress arc.
8. The report appears. It shows any flagged moments matched to your rules, or a "You're in the clear" message.
9. Tap Save video. Your take is saved to your library.

Move to the desktop to schedule (web)

1. Open tention.app in a browser on your computer. Sign in with the same email.
2. Go to Library. Your filmed take is there, ready to schedule or review further.
3. Go to Settings and then Channels to connect your social platforms.
4. Go to Schedule to pick a time slot and publish your take.

You'll know it worked when

• The feed screen loads with prompt cards after onboarding.
• After recording, the take appears in your Library with a "Filmed" status.
• On the web, the same take shows up in the Filmed shelf and is ready to schedule.
